Spinal Tumors

Fortunately, tumor of the spine are infrequent.

Tumors that affect the spine may be benign or malignant in origin.
Within malignant tumors the most frequent is metastasis in 90% (lung, digestive or breast).

Among the benign tumors, the most frequent are Osteoid Osteoma and Osteoblastoma.

In the first place, diagnosis will always be recommended by means of images (CT-MRI) and open biopsy or guided by CT and anatomical-pathological study in order to determine its origin.

The total resection of the tumor is mandatory and the reconstruction will depend in each case on the type of tumor and its extension.
